The Spanish Committee of Representatives of Persons with Disabilities (CERMI) warns in a recent statement of the damage of the municipal ordinances aimed at restricting the access and circulation of vehicles through certain urban roads, due to traffic management reasons; environmental or preservation of historical centers.
From this association and others it is claimed that people with reduced mobility are always authorized to access and circulate, since if they were not allowed, their constitutional right to free movement would be curtailed, therefore it is essential that they can move in their vehicle. Moreover, although some ordinances have provided answers for this situation, authorizing the movement of drivers that have the reserved parking card, they have not taken into account that this accreditation is valid only for those that are neighbors of these municipalities, and the movement of people with reduced mobility should be accesible regardless of the city in which they are located.
