Taxis in Valencia will use the blue anti-piracy license plate

Taxis in Valencia will use the blue anti-piracy license plateAs of July 2019, all public transport vehicles must incorporate the blue anti-piracy license plate, proving that the service they offer is legal as opposed to what the illegal cars can provide. With this initiative of the DGT and the trade unions of the sector, it is intended to fight the scourge of pirate transport that is not governed by any kind of regulation. This initiative is taken not only for the survival of legal companies but for the user's own safety.

However, the introduction of the blue license plate, which is already mandatory for all new vehicles, has not had a unanimous agreement from the taxi sector in Valencia. Thus, there are critical voices that point out that although the badge allows to differentiate the legal vehicles of the illegal ones, using it in the same activity as Uber or Cabify is a little bit of a contradiction and that it doesn't make sence for them to have the same blue licence as normal taxis or for example a eurotaxi or taxi adapted for people with reduced mobility.
